👑“Good health is a crown on the head of a well person that only a sick person can see.” — Robin Sharma

Health is invisible when we have it, but priceless when we lose it. As a woman, I don’t want to simply survive life — I want to thrive, to feel alive, strong, and keep my mind sparking

Robin Sharma’s Wisdom

Robin must have definitely experienced the ups and downs of life to have written this. As the author of The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari and The 5AM Club, his work reflects a clear awakening about what truly matters in life and how to get the best out of ourselves.

Why This Quote Matters to Me

Because it has been a crown I’ve worn and a crown I’ve felt almost too privileged to have. Motherhood brought different feelings when my health was low — the fear and realization that I am not immortal, and the question of whether I’ve secured the path for the ones who matter most to me.

Realizing that without health, everything turns to dust. And then you start weighing up: what is my pound of flesh worth?

Loss, Grief, and Realization

Last year I lost one of my favourite people in the world, along with my cousin to cancer at age 30. I’m still not at peace with the struggles they endured. My grandad’s suffering, extended by protocols that failed to care for him, changed me forever.

He was my consistent male role model — solidly present until he wasn’t. My cousin embodied joy and optimism. Their journeys made me see health differently: fragile, precious, and never guaranteed.

The Guilt of Health

There is guilt in standing healthy in front of the sick. Even small injuries remind us how much we rely on our bodies. A paper cut or burn suddenly makes you realize how essential that one finger is.
As humans, we quickly forget — which is both a blessing and a curse. Forgetting allows us to move forward, but it also makes us less consistent.

Why Am I Not at Optimum Health?
I love life and quality time with family and friends. I enjoy solo experiences that feed the soul and mind.
With all the knowledge and life lessons, why am I not at peak condition in body, mind, and spirit?
Because I prioritize others’ needs before my own.
Work, motherhood, eldest daughter, active granddaughter, and great friendships… that’s my list. And 24 hours, 7 days a week, gets filled quickly when you enjoy the blessings.

The 1% Rule

James Clear’s Atomic Habits says: “If you can get 1% better each day for a year, you’ll end up thirty‑seven times better by the time you’re done.”

I don’t favour an extreme mindset. I want flexibility, the comfort of not feeling guilty if I do or don’t achieve something just for the end goal.

As a mother (and this applies to fathers too), kids are unpredictable — you learn to roll with it.

Living in the Now

I want to live in the now, which to me also means loving the now I have.

Extra pounds? IT’S OK.
Gym on the to‑do list? IT’S OK.
Something sweet here and there? IT’S OK.

Everything has its season. Grief brought health challenges, but I needed spiritual and mental health to take priority. Now, as I grow a business I’m passionate about, personal life takes a slight back seat. But I know that exercise will fuel creativity, reduce fatigue, and give me energy.

Seeking My 1%

This is why I look for the 1% in all areas — to bring a steady, sustainable type of healthy life.

Together, they form a philosophy: honour your crown by investing in small, consistent acts of wellness.
